Si je t'oublie Jerusalem...
This painting is avalaible as a high quality hand-signed print on paper or canvas.
"L'an prochain à Jérusalem."
If I forget thee O Jerusalem let my right hand be forgotten
Let my tongue cleave to my palate if I do not remember you
If I do not elevate Jerusalem to the head of all my joy
        -Psalm 137

Inspirational symbolic painting  is a visual embodiment of the longing in each Jewish heart for the Holy City of Jerusalem.
This is an original paint in mixed media presenting the text of the Psalm quoted above in relief, framed by depictions of devout men in contemplative prayer.
The work is anchored by a stack of books representing the countless prayers and references in liturgy that express the undying desire of the Jewish People to return to their Holy City. The text itself is framed in an archway which introduces the only exterior illumination of the work and suggests the promise of redemption implicit in the devoted longing for return. The human figures occupy different planes in the composition and serve as testimony to the vast expanse of time through which the central theme has remained constant.
